My five year old has been sounding out letters a lot lately and I decided to get this set to help encourage learning to read at home. I’m just two weeks he already can sound out beginner words. Great little beginner set.

My toddler absolutely loves the Chickadee Readers series! The books are engaging, funny, and just the right length to keep his attention. He especially enjoys the flash cards — they’ve become part of our daily routine and make learning feel like play. One of our favorite features is the comprehension questions at the end of each book. They really help us reinforce what we’ve read and check his understanding in a fun way. I’ve also noticed a big improvement in his recognition of sight words since we started using this set.

These books are a great start to our grandchildren’s reading library. They can practice letter sounds, letter recognition and phonics. The illustrations are bright and fun! The words in the books are easy to read. I think they will be easy for our grandson (who’s 3) to pick up on as we repetitively read these stories with him. He’s enjoys using the flashcards and sounding out each letter. AND a

We've been using these readers for about two weeks now in our homeschooling. My child is excited to read these. I haven't come across another easy reader set like this. The stories are engaging and fun to read and listen to!

I have a seven year old boy who is a reluctant reader. We have tried several different readers with him. Most are either boring or throw in too many words the child isn't ready for. This set is both interesting to read and manages to stay on his level. He really enjoys these books.

These readers are like zuchinni bread. Fun and tasty illustrations and stories but the nutritional value of reading practice is there!

Stories are actually fun and illustrations are good! I love how the characters recur again in different levels of books. These are pretty boy friendly too. They’ve got treehouses and flat tires and yes there was a tea party, but overall not so “domesticated” that an adventurous boy can’t get into the story. :-)

Just what I was looking for in a quality reader set.

My 4.5 yr old has been showing major interest in learning how to read. We've used the Lovevery pre-reading kit for a little while now so she's very familiar with letter sounds and breaking down words. These books are FAB for her. We haven't gone beyond the first set (short vowel sounds) but it's totally building her confidence in reading! I'm glad I bought this bundle.

I got these to encourage my first grader to read independently- these have helped to build her confidence, and we get lots of laughs from the stories too!

Totally recommend these books for new readers!!!

I got these for my 6 year old who's learning to read. He found the stories engaging and loved the pictures. I have found a lot of introductory readers to trend more feminine in topic and illustration style and he wasn't super interested, but he really liked these. Having the sticker map also creates a great visual aid for progress with markers along the way. We've set a prize for when he earns all the stickers.

These books are so precious! I was excited about the phonics flashcards as well but am disappointed in them - It would be a great improvement if the flashcards had uppercase and lowercase on them as well as included beginner blends. Thank you so much for creating this set!

Our son has been reading one a night for about 5 months now and we are really seeing progress. My one very valid complaint is that the font that is used in the books makes the lower case k look like a capital R, in that it makes that loop. That has been very confusing for him. And honestly, I do think a font that doesn't have that should be used. Many of the kids reading this are already struggling and throwing that loop at them is one more unnecessary obstacle to overcome.

We were in a bit of a slump, and I ordered these because my friends recommended them to me. The day they arrived, my kindergartener read 3 stories, and confidently told her dad “I can read!” when he came home. She’s excited about reading again, and has shown much improvement in her lessons. If you homeschool, these are a great resource!

It has been so sweet seeing my boys (kindergarten & 1st grade) bond over reading these books. They love the sticker chart to track their progress & I love that it keeps me on track with reading with them nightly!
